Local Government Structure:

Cambridgeshire County Council: County councils cover the entire county and provide around 80% of the services in these areas, including schools, social services, public transportation, highways, waste disposal and trading standards. Probably one of the most important pages on the CCC website is that for Reporting a Highways Fault.

South Cambridge District Council: Each district council covers a smaller area and provides more local services, including council housing, local planning, recycling and refuse collection and leisure facilities. Useful pages on the SCDC website are: Stapleford Parish Council; Planning Applications; and Bin Collection information.

Other local websites of interest:

Stapleford Online: a website specifically for the village, managed by David Martin, providing local news and information.

St Andrews Church: the Parish Church website.

Wandlebury Country Park: On the Gog Magog Hills, just south of Cambridge, this beautiful countryside estate offers miles of wonderful walks through woodland and wildflower meadows grazed by Highland Cattle. A fantastic setting for a picnic or a BBQ, to watch wildlife, run around and build a den, a gentle stroll or a strenuous hike. Enjoy tea, cake or ice-cream at a pop-up cafe or hire the stables for a special occasion. On the remains of a circular Iron Age Hillfort, steeped in myth and legend, and an 18th century house, stables and gardens. The Country Park is owned and cared for by local charity Cambridge Past, Present & Future, who need your support.
