Recreation Ground Shed To Be Renovated

Contracts have been signed with Harrison Construction and work is due to start before July on a modernised shed for storing all the paraphernalia required by our various sporting activities on the Recreation Ground and MUGA. Initial work to safely remove an old asbestos roof has already occurred. The budget is around £27,000 and is coming from S106 funds.

The new shed will still re-utilise some of the existing building but it will be lowered in height and new doors and roof applied. The shed is located beyond the Pavilion and nestles within the canopies of the trees in that area. See below:

From the front not much will alter structure wise apart from the height thought the external walls will be painted black.

The shed will have three areas with one dedicated to the Parish Council itself whilst other clubs and societies will utilise the two remaining spaces.

The work is due to be finished by August and it is but one part of a wider series of initiatives including the MUGA build, the children’s playground revamp and the building of outdoor toilets so that the Pavilion wont need to be opened for those caught short.
