Village weekend – call to arms

The village committee, supported by the Parish Council, has an ambitious plan to make our summer event (2nd-5th June) lead by example by promoting environmental issues and products that can reduce our carbon footprint. Climate change will be the main theme for the weekend. There will be opportunities to learn more about solar panels, air and ground source heating, biofuels, and eco-friendly products. We will also have craft stalls where the whole family can create items for their gardens.

If anyone works at or has a business that tackles climate change in any way and would like to have a stall to promote what they do to the public, do get in touch ASAP.

Another theme for the weekend will be the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with local groups showcasing their activities and encouraging us to join in. There will be a dog show with professional judges to present awards, traditional games and activities, great food and drink, and music to enjoy over the whole weekend. The event will end with a street party on Gog Magog Way, to which all are welcome.
