Children from Stapleford Community Primary School’s student council cut the ribbon to formally open the updated Jubilee playground on 23 April. Families from across the village were then welcomed into the playground to enjoy the new equipment, with the slide on the hill proving a firm favourite. Many thanks to Stapleford residents for purchasing this with your donations!
Villagers were also welcomed onto the multi-use games area to try their luck at football and basketball on Court 1, under the supervision of Shelford and Stapleford Striker’s U14 squad, or for a spot of tennis on Court 2, with Stapleford Tennis Club’s new coach, Angelica Fachechi. Refreshments were available in the Jubilee Pavilion courtesy of the school PTA, and children were encouraged to leave their handprints in a creative collaboration which will be used to inspire the design of a new playground fence, using a designated arts fund awarded to Stapleford Parish Council.
Thanks to everyone involved in making this such a great event – the School PTA, Stapleford Tennis Club and the Parish Council.
